Thanks, Michael. Yes, I've had a lot of wonderful wines from New York -- I used to be a regular contributor to NewYorkCorkReport.com, a great NY wine site --and have written about some lovely Finger Lakes Rieslings on this site. Cheers!

I thought I should contribute since I just uncorked a bottle. I bought the bottle at my neighborhood wine store (115th & Frederick Douglass), despite the obnoxious label, faux-frenchie name and (worst of all) tapered shape which besides unappealing proportions also makes the bottle impossible to stack with other, better behaved bottles.

I thought your rendering of the wine's taste was rather good, even if I would not have nearly as positive, but I'll leave it at that.

I bought the bottle because I've had other excellent NY state wines most notably Cabernet Franc from Lamoreaux Landing and King ferry winery. My point, which I am getting to, is just to point out that NY makes excellent wines, just not the easy drinking Merlot's and Cabernet Sauvignon that you are referring too.

Best,
